Biography
Dr. Nair graduated from NYU with a double major in English Literature and Biology, then received her MD from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. She then joined her husband in southern California, completing her residency at the Loma Linda University Family Medicine Residency Program and serving as chief resident in her final year. Here, the strong emphasis on spirituality in medicine, lifestyle medicine, preventive medicine and narrative medicine all shaped her perspectives on patient care.
After residency, she and her husband relocated to Dallas for her husband to begin his role as assistant professor of ethnomusicology at the UNT College of Music, while she joined the UT Southwestern Family Medicine faculty as an assistant professor. As a board certified family physician, Dr. Nair continues to advocate for lifestyle and preventive medicine for her patients with a goal of guiding patients of all ages to wellness.
